As Islands in the Night

Crystal lake

By the green edges

Is a growing line

Which outlines its sparks

In high winding hills

Beyond the ethos

There is its application

Pure white clouds

Drenched in silver silk

Above a red wave of light

Drowning in earth's delight

I throw my words

Eight miles high

And catch the wind in its strength

As mighty horses crash out upon the waves

Of silver wines water

Roaring ice of grace

Above is the tipping towers of high lines

And deep blue powder

Falls like angels

In the drenching water ways

Deep rain in the jungle

Steep green so deep

It holds the world in its power

Complexity of the leaves

Soft wonder of the air

Blue sky mixed in the mystic mist

Deep island of the fair seas

Bury my thoughts under the waves

Put my heart into the oceans kindness

Nature is a home

From which I am

And thus belong

With each of its qualities

Buried in my brain

And my brain is united in it

A steep flowing feeling

As awe strikes the gut

And the winds pile on the stairways

Stairways built in dust

Strike these flowing findings into wonder

Steep hills

And glowing rainbows

Of mountains

So deep and meadows so fine

That the grain of these grounds

Split into a million

And each of its million wings

Becomes a new star

Floating like an island

As islands in the night

Each unto itself

A new masterwork

With glories too profound

For as yet simple humankind

Can now understand.
