Your grace amazes me! It is as if the stars were seen like the rainbows of the heavens! You unfold with the deep night of love everlasting! For you drink from the stream by the golden fire! For you place yourself in the everlasting heart of the river! Your thoughts drift upward like the mist of the air! They dangle upon the threads of our meek and lowly hearts! And then, like the dove of abstraction, and in the forms of the wind you reveal yourself! You lower your countenance into tranquility, and you provide us with your oracle. Wisdom flows from the river of your tongue and like fire it consumes the heavens. The poor and the oppressed look upward at the symbols in the sky and they rejoice! For liberation has come like the ice of the morning that melts into all things pure! The bay immaculate and the river of love everlasting! Liberation has come and the lowly shall rejoice! Like the candle of the fire they swing their great might! Like the bull in its might they charge like the moonlight! The earth sings and the heavens sweep their kind faces into the souls of our towns and our lowly stables! By the ghetto and the whorehouse you lift up your tongue and you free the slaves like Israel from the land of Egypt! For she is our heroine with her countenance pure, and her virtue everlasting! She is the cup of water pure, which makes me glad! I shall stand before her by the table of our feast and rejoice! For the water grows evermore and the heart abides like Jason before the golden fleece! Like the saints killed by the hands of Rome; our tragedy abides at least in dignity! Our tears are great for those we have lost; yet our joy is mighty for the liberation of her wisdom! Purity, and wisdom, and the stars everlasting are your names from which you compose your being! Fair lady, give us strength, give us your wisdom, teach us kindness and love in all things! Then let the hour of our hearts be the mountain under which the moon stands and bows down before everything!
