And they have Loved me in my Freedom

My heart moves and skips like a rock across the water

I see the great valley which is not in the world

I hear the great sound which has never been heard

For this sound is not known through the echoing of the ears

And blessed are those visions which are seen not through the eyes

A river of gold is calm meditation

A treasure of wisdom is in this silent joy

This great mountain of gray light

And ever growing is the pattern from which they speak

I have seen beyond color

And I have forgotten the paths of the world

For everything that is in the world my mind has forgotten

And I think only in spirit

The circles are shaking themselves by the sun

And the moon is kissing the fabric of great shapes

For these great shapes speak kindly like the spheres of heaven

Yet there are not spheres in the land of which I speak

For there the grass is blue and the wind is without motion

For there is the freedom which comes from having no desire

The strange tree stares at the sky and tells it to come down from its height

As if it was a dream I speak without words

And I think without flesh

Oh let me give love to the world with this gift from forever

For when I return to this world of ours

Let me bring to it the kindness of another earth

And give to it thoughts of another measure

And wisdom of another sort

So let the dirt be still with the growing of the flowers

And may the birds sing with love

For I have loved them

And they have loved me in my freedom
